In 1974, the OA's National
Committee created the position of Region Chief. There was one chief for
each of the BSA's 6 regions. This gave even more youth the opportunity
to be a national leader.
From 1975 - 1987, officers held 2 year terms. The term started the year
of NOAC and the officers served the year after their NOAC.
The OA experimented with a 1 year term in 1985. 1986-1987 saw a 2 year
term once again and for the last time. This cut down on the travel
demands
for 1 officer and allowed additional youth opportunities.
