National Officers of the
Order of the Arrow

These pages list the 1950 - 2008 national officers and their home lodge at the time of their election.
There are 18 with unknown lodges. If you know for a fact which lodge they were a member of please use the contact us button on the left to let us know.

We are not interested in their current lodge or predecessor lodge. Lodges in yellow need to be verified. Cities listed in yellow may not be their actual home town (may have moved, college, etc).  If you feel there are errors please let us know that as well.

In 1963, the National Conference Vice Chief position was created. This was different than the Conference Vice Chief of today who is more of a committee chairman than a vice chief.

In 1970, the national officer positions were changed to give the youth more responsibilities. These officers had the same or similar duties as today's officers.

Southcentral Region Chief
Southeastern Region Chief
Western Region Chief
In 1974, the OA's National Committee created the position of Region Chief. There was one chief for each of the BSA's 6 regions. This gave even more youth the opportunity to be a national leader.

From 1975 - 1987, officers held 2 year terms. The term started the year of NOAC and the officers served the year after their NOAC.

The OA experimented with a 1 year term in 1985. 1986-1987 saw a 2 year term once again and for the last time. This cut down on the travel demands for 1 officer and allowed additional youth opportunities.
1993 - Present

National Vice Chief

Northeast Region Chief
Southern Region Chief
Western Region Chief
In 1993, the BSA reorganized the regions decreasing to 4 regions. The OA followed.
